Unframed Collective is a platform that creates an intellectual space to investigate norms and standards around intimacy, sexuality and relationships. The collective hosts events that consist of a theoretical lecture combined with a group discussion and a workshop.
POINT OF DEPARTURE
The founders of Unframed Collective were brought together by their curiosty about different forms of intimacy and relationships – and by their frustration that at the time there was no place yet to explore these themes in an openminded but safe and intimate setting. They started hosting small events and through experimentation distilled a formula that became the signature of Unframed Collective: the combination of theory and philosophy with a guided group discussion and a conceptual workshop.

PERSONAS
Unframed Collective focusses their offer on young to middle aged people who have an openminded attitude towards intimacy, sexuality and relationships. They want to take a deeper dive in the subject matter and are looking for a place to listen, share and explore more of themselves and their peers.
BACKDROP
Sexual education is limited to this day and mostly ignores anything more complex than sliding a condom over a cucumber. Also between parents and children, and even amongst friend groups talking about intimacy is still a taboo. Meanwhile, the conventional norms just don’t make sense anymore to the younger generations and there is a growing desire to develop a new ‘love language’.

Unframed Collective likes to communicate their brand with words and images that trigger their audiences minds (and turn their ears red too), so we designed the graphic elements to balance out their brand formula with a sense of classiness, accessibility and familiarity.

‘’Unframing’ the standard norms. Bare piece of art without a frame. Simple, maybe even a bit technical? An adjective so a state one can strive for. Get unframed.
Collective
A cooperative enterprize. People can contribute. Also refers to the notion that the platform addresses a collective need.
DESIGN ELEMENTS
Colors
Warm teints of grey, green and aubergine for a solid and welcoming vibe. This set of teints is at the basis for all of Unframed Collective’s communication materials.
Font
A modern font with a playfull effect. Not unimportant for the collective: this font is clearly readable in presentations.
Logo
The logo combines the chosen brand name, colors, font and a diamond. An unframed diamond shape that’s like a little window looking into a cozy room.
Diamond element in the overall house style
Graphic element based on the diamond shape of the logo. Emphasizes the window effect. Frame is half transparant like a net curtain. Simple and classy design that can be used for all of Unframed Collective’s communication materials.
Typography bonus
The diamond element ◆ is a standard typography symbol, a bonus! Unframed Collective can used it on all their channels in titles, headings and event descriptions.
WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT
King Eve built Unframed Collective’s website in WordPress. We tweaked an existing theme in such a way that new events can be easily published in a coherent and stylish way. We integrated Mailchimp and designed a template for the collective’s newletter in the matching style.
